One thing I love that most people may not believe are Musicals. I love music and I love hearing different type of music. Watching musicals excites me because for one I get to hear new songs I have never heard before and two because I get to share these musicals with my sister and cousin. 2021 was the year of musicals and I wanted to share just a few of my favorites ones.

First on the list is Vivo. This movie is fun to watch and it brings out every emotion in you. This movie was released on Netflix in August of 2021 and starred Legendary songwriter and film maker Lin-Manuel Miranda as Vivo the Kinkajou (you will hear his name again in other musicals). As I was saying Vivo is a very fun musical for all ages with a lot of very upbeat songs that you can dance to. My favorite song from the movie is the very first song 'One Of A Kind', but the song that took over TikTok was 'Running Out Of Time.'

The next one I will talk about is Encanto because this musical has some bangers, plus the story was great. All around it was probably the best animated musicals of the year. It was released on Nov. 24 on Disney+ and it was a huge hit. My favorite song in the musical would have to be 'The Family Madrigal' because I like how they sped up the song towards the end. The most popular song is 'We Don't Talk About Bruno.' 

One of my favorite musical is In the Heights. This was Lin-Manuel Miranda very first musical and in 2021 it was finally put on the big screen. I wish I was in the movie because they looked like they were having so much fun singing and dancing to just about every song. The characters are very relatable, and even if you don't relate to them you can't help but love them. I like this musical so much that I don't even have a favorite song, I downloaded the whole soundtrack.

I would like to give an honorable mention to the Musical Tick, Tick... Boom! Which came out on Netflix and was directed by no other then Lin-Manuel Miranda. This musical tells the life of another legendary playwright Jonathan Larson (most famous for writing the musical Tick, Tick... Boom and one of my other favorite musicals Rent).
